Flett 4th, J. Colin ""CJ

Colin John Flett 4th (CJ) No. 4 as his grandfather called him. CJ to the rest of us. Colin died suddenly at his home Saturday, February 15th at the age of 33. Born December 13th, 1986 to proud parents Colin and Karen Flett (Sliede). Brother to Lauren Malafarina (Phil) and Anton Flett (Amy Gravelle) and uncle to Julianna, Elena, Giuseppe and Finlay. Grandson to Colin and Isabel Flett (both deceased) and to John Sliede (deceased) and Irene Sliede (mummu) and leaving behind his closest cousin Mackenzie Marshall. Nephew to Jo-Anne Marshall, Margaret Flett (Eric Shelswell) and Brian Sliede (Kim). Colin lived his entire life in Sudbury attending schools at Arthur Robinson, McLeod, Lockerby and finishing high school at Sudbury Secondary. Growing up, Colin was a lifelong SPHL hockey player, playing for mostly Robinson Playground. In his final years, Colin struggled with depression and anxiety leading to substance abuse. Colin was a kind and companionate individual and an engaging conversationalist with an infectious joking nature that made everyone laugh. Fishing off the dock and working outside at his parent’s house and camp was his greatest enjoyment. To the health care professionals and Greater Sudbury Police that took an interest in his situation throughout the years, it is deeply appreciated by the family. Especially to Herman Riech. Colin taught his parents there is a part of society that have their own personal problems and who therefore shouldn’t be judged negatively. Instead, visualize walking in their shoes and extend empathy, support and tolerance toward them. Visitation will be held at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury 2-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday February 27th, 2020 with a short eulogy to Colin at 7:00pm Colin will always be mom and dad’s little boy hugging us before bedtime and saying, “I love you bigger than a house, I love you bigger than a mountain, I love you bigger than the universe, but I love you more than that.”
