St. Germain, Kathleen Theresa (Thompson)

St. Germain, Kathleen Theresa (nee Thompson) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother Kathleen Theresa St. Germain on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Joseph St. Germain. Loving mother of Patricia Cormier (Gary) and David St. Germain. Cherished grandmother of Christie Anne (Brett), David (Cheri), Christopher and great grandmother of Averi, Hayden and Reagan. Beloved sister of Richard (Linda), predeceased by Eileen, Harry, Peter and John. Born in Leeds, England to the late Harry and Eileen (nee Burton) Thompson. Kathleen came to Canada, June 9, 1930 from Liverpool, England, landing in Montreal QC. on the HMS Doric. The family then travelled to Sudbury, ON to meet up with her father who was already in Sudbury to find work. Kathleen was very active growing up having belonged to the youth group of her church. She was also into track and field, winning medals and trophies for running and hurdles. We don't know where that gene went because Patricia and David can barely do summersaults. Kathleen was a very active member in her community and church, she was a Lay Minister of the Eucharist as well as a reader. She was also president of the CWL several times, as well as being a member of the ""Bells of St. Clements"". These talented women would entertain at various CWL functions and conventions by singing and dancing. Once Patricia and David started school, Kathleen was on the parent’s committees and was instrumental in changes made to the school curriculum. Kathleen had strong Christian morals and loved to help family, friends as well as strangers. She worked at Silverman’s for several years then went to the Memorial Hospital as Administrator of Admitting. Kathleen loved her children unconditionally and was a vocal point in their lives. Kathleen loved spending her time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you, David, for your timeless love, support and companionship for mom. You have been her rock, as well as her caregiver. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Celiac Association would be appreciated. A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Rd. Sudbury, at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Online condolences can be posted at www.RangersSudbury.com
