MacKay, Don

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Don MacKay after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife Christina (Szatkowski) of 42 years, children Kim St. Amour (Burt), Tracy Paquette (Scott), Marisa MacKay (Scott Orton), Heather Bedard (Germain), and Joshua MacKay (Véronique Shinder). He leaves behind six grandchildren, Mackenzie & Ben St. Amour, Michael & Darrin White, and Haylie & Jace Bedard, and two great grandchildren, Evie St. Amour and Ellie-Grace White. Also survived by his sister Mercie Harris of Hayward, CA, and niece Rosabel Harris and great nephew Sam of Olympia, WA. Predeceased by parents Wallace (1977) and Grace (1997). Don went through life quietly, while touching the lives of many. He will be sadly missed, especially by the ladies of the YEE coffee club. A Ceremony of Life will be held on Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 46 Legion Drive, South Porcupine between 1pm and 3pm. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, where Don and Christina’s story began.
