In loving memory of Ronald William McDonald, age 70 years who passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his home. Loving son of Beatrice and John, both predeceased. Beloved brother to Jackie (Chuck), Isabelle (Darwin), Paul (Dorothy), Pauline (Al), Kenneth and Carole (Terry), predeceased by sister Muriel Ann. “Uncle Ronnie” will be greatly missed by all of his nieces and nephews: Troy, Shane, Jamie, Jim, Jodie, Natalie, Terri-Lee, Lynne, Mark, Jason and Joanna. His great nieces and nephews will also miss him dearly: Mitchell, Nicholas, Justin, Christen, Taylor, Tristan, Joshua, Cameron, Lindsay, Brady, Noah, Jamielee, Courtney, Rowan, Svea, Matthew, Vaughan, Laife and his great-great niece Sophia. Ronnie loved life to the fullest. In his younger days, he played shortstop and was known for the incredible speed that he could fire a ball across the field. He was also a highly skilled pool player. Later into retirement he became an avid traveller, going on trips to explore many different places with family and friends. Ronnie stayed very active swimming at the YMCA and sweeping the ladies off their feet at his weekly dancing sessions at Parkside. He was also a devoted Sudbury Wolves fan. Ronnie loved reunions, as it was an opportunity to enjoy music, drinks, good food and most of all his family. Ronnie’s love for his family and friends was always warmly felt when he gave you one of his famous “triple bear hugs” each time that he saw you. Family gatherings will not be the same without our cherished Ronnie. He will always hold a special place in all of our hearts. A Celebration of Life for Ron McDonald will be held at the ParkSide Centre Sudbury, 140 Durham Street on Friday, September 22, 2017 starting at 11am. The ParkSide will be dedicating a Soup, Sandwich and Song event to Ron who was a long-time member of The Parkside and participant of this event. Join us to celebrate Ron, listen to one of his favourite bands The Boomers and to enjoy food and dancing with friends and family. All are welcome. Donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd.
