In Loving Memory of Norman Raiche 86 years Thursday, April 20th, 2017 at his residence. Beloved husband of Eva Leona Marie (Chatelain) Raiche predeceased 2009. Loving father of Karen (Glenn Mersereau), Elise (Gerry Urso), Michael (Rose) and Tina (Enrico Schlaepfer). Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Andrew, Sera predeceased, Evan (Melissa), Sulee (Eddie), Clayton, Javen, Sierra, Kai-Lani and great grandchildren Ebbie Ann, Johnathan, Eddie and Eva. Dear son of Louis and Mary (Massicotte) Raiche predeceased. Dear brother of Anita Weston, Johnny Raiche and Claudette Davis (husband Ken predeceased). Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Norman was born in Sudbury, Ontario. Norman enlisted with the Canadian Army and served with the 2nd Battalion PPCLI in Korea. Norman was wounded in Korea and upon returning to Canada joined the Deep River Police Department and after leaving Deep River joined the McKim Township Police which amalgamated with the City of Sudbury in 1960. He then went on to serve with the Sudbury Police Department for 16 years, leaving to become Chief of Security at Laurentian University in 1970. Norman retired from this position in June 1996. Norman loved pistol shooting, competing in local, National and Provincial matches. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Norman’s family was very important and they were very close knit and he will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. The family expresses their appreciation to Norm’s brother Johnny who was always there for him. Funeral Prayers in the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. Cremation with entombment in the Civic Cemetery Field of Honour. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 P.M. Saturday or after 1:00 P.M. Sunday)
