In Loving Memory of Royce Simpson 78 years June 10, 1938 – March 24, 2017 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Royce on Friday, March 24th, 2017 at Maison McCulloch Hospice, Sudbury, after a brave and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Royce is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Marilyn (nee Bell). Loving father of Scott (Tiffany), Trycia (Andy), and Tarra. Very proud Papa of Jasmine, Faith, Ben, Max, Josh, Ryan, and Eva. Born in Creighton Mine to Lillian and Orville Simpson, he was predeceased by his siblings Norman, Earl, Allan, Florence, and Audrey. He is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Royce was employed at INCO, with 42 years seniority – working throughout its complex – retiring in 1999. Royce was an avid hunter and a volunteer firefighter in Walden. He was a man of many talents, including gardening, yard work, a great storyteller, but most of all an accomplished artist – his paintings displayed in Sudbury, Toronto, Western Canada, England, and Australia. Royce’s happiest moments were spending quality time with his loving family, especially his seven precious grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Trinity United Church (Lively), where he was a choir member for many years and also held other positions in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or Trinity United Church (Lively) would be appreciated. (Flowers gratefully declined). Memorial Service in Trinity United Church 217 Sixth Ave, Lively Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 at 11:30am Friends may visit at the Church from 5-8pm Tuesday and after 11am Wednesday. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
