I’m so glad we had this dance, in a moment of forever “Love Deb” After a long battle with cancer, Victor left us on January 12th, 2017, with a hole in our hearts but a lifetime full of wonderful memories. He died surrounded by his family, at home, in his favourite room. He was married to the love of his life Debbie (Bellaire) and dad to Amanda (Peter Mihaichuk) and Jessica (Erin Taylor). He was an amazing Poppa who was so proud of his Rhea and Ethan Taylor, Hunter and Brodie Mihaichuk. He was the son of Gerald “Red” and Hilda (Edmonds) Lamirande (predeceased) and brother of Sharon (Greg Roy) and Terry (Julia Bondy) Lamirande who all owned a special place in his heart. He will also be missed by many family and friends. Vic had a Viking spirit and was protective of those he loved, especially his girls, which earned him the nickname “Uncle Buck.” A great cook, “The barbecue man” could be found in his garage making his famous chicken wings and steak even on the coldest winter days. The ultimate Bob Seger fan, he was caught, once or twice, playing his beer bottle as a saxophone along with the music. A jack-of-all-trades and handyman he was always ready to lend a hand. He was happiest at the lake or driving around in his 1969 Cutlass or 1986 Chevy Truck. We will all miss him dearly but he will be forever in our hearts. A Celebration of life will be held at the Colonial Inn, 28 Cedar St, in Coniston, on January 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
