It is with profound sadness and love we say goodbye to Elena Calvano, our beloved mother, nonna and bisnonna who passed away at the age of 89 on Monday, January 13th, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Her memory will be forever treasured by her children Annunziatina Paolin (Isadore predeceased), Romano (Sarah) and Doriano, her grandchildren Stephanie (Scott), Vanessa, Kristyn, Matthew and Daniel (mother Sandra), Samuel, Elena and great grandsons Logan and Gracyn, her godsons Mario Ricci (Lina) and Dominico Ricci (Maria). Born to Americo and Fermina Polidori in Carpineto Romano, she married Orlando Calvano in 1951 and immigrated to Sudbury in 1954. She is predeceased by her sibblings Umberto, Padre Leone, Mario, Cleofe, Maria, Albertina and Maria (cherished adoptive sister) all of Italy. Sister in law to Ezio Calvano (Maria), predeceased by Pietro Calvano (Cleofe), Anita Lucatelli (Luigi) of Italy and Luigina Santucci (Constatino) of Australia. Fondly remembered by close friends and many nieces and nephews from Canada, United States, Italy, Australia, and France . Our mother's legacy reflects endless kindness, patience, compassion and love. As an attentive listener she never judged but rather gave guidance, support and understanding. We take comfort knowing that in her final days and moments she was surrounded by family and remains in the embrace of all who love her. As per her wishes there will be no visitation.
