In loving memory of Harold “Spike” Boal who passed away on Monday, October 7th, 2019 at home at the age of 80. Born August 24th, 1939 to Irwin “Spike” and Jean (Geddes) Boal (both predeceased) in Sudbury. Beloved husband of Helen (Manton) Boal predeceased. Loving father of Bruce of Sudbury and Tara Trimmer of Hanmer. Cherished grandfather of Katrina Trimmer who gave so much joy to his life. Dear brother to Bonnie Thomas (Ron predeceased) and Cathie Horne (Dan) both of Kirkland Lake. Special friend and travelling companion Jean Maguire. Dear brother-in-law of Margaret Gavin (Bob predeceased), Jean Byers (Denis), Pat Manton (Marc Dufresne) all of Sudbury, Carol Tyerman (Bill) of Burlington, John Manton (Mary) of Kelowna, B.C. and Don Manton (Nancy) of Pembroke). A great reference source for his many nieces and nephews. Spike worked many years for the accounting firm Sostrich, Ross, Wright and Cecutti, LLP. Spike was an avid sports fan throughout his life. He played baseball, softball and slo-pitch. During the winters, he was a devoted curler. Spike enjoyed watching all sports on TV. He was also an enthusiastic cook. One of his favourite pastimes was watching Katrina throughout her ringette career. Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may gather from 2-5 & 7-9pm Friday. Funeral service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at 11:30am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. If desired, donations to the HSN Cardiac Rehab Program would be appreciated.
