Charette, C. Vernon

It is with great sorrow his family announces the passing of Vernon (Carmine) Charette. Born October 15th, 1949, he was raised in Britt, ON where he gained his love of fishing and hunting. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Rachel (nee Timony) and father of Vernon Jr. and Jennifer McCauley (Terry). He was also the cherished “Poppa” to his 5 grandchildren, Wayson, Kaylub, Autumn, Aidan and Quinton. “Vern” as he was known, was a quiet and dedicated man who always put his family first. He loved anything sports related and was the #1 fan of any activity his grandchildren participated in. He loved spending time at his camp on the Georgian Bay and after hours of putting on worms and taking off fish, he would sit cross legged on the rocks and fry fish to feed his family. He worked at Domtar in Nairn Centre where he put in many dedicated hours in the saw mill, however his greatest pride was that he sailed the Great Lakes on the oil tanker “The Arctic Trader.” He will be remembered by his sister Annette (Mike) Niffin and his brothers Marcel and Maurice (Mary). He will also be missed by his in-laws - the whole Timony clan, and his numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church Garson on Tuesday Oct 8th at 10am followed by a reception in the parish hall. Cremation with interment in the family plot at Britt. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to one of the three charities he supported, L’Arche Sudbury Inc., Holy Family Parish, Britt or St. John the Evangelist Parish, Garson.
