Bedrij, E. Veta (Thomas)

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces that heaven opened its gates to welcome a new angel. Veta Ellen Bedrij (Thomas), aged 84, got her wings on September 30th, 2019 when she left this earthly world to join those loved ones who have gone before. Beloved wife of Mike (Mychajlo) Bedrij predeceased 2003. She leaves behind a loving family of Jerry, Nadia (David Laundry), and Lydia (Brian Duncan). Cherished grandmother of Billy Laundry (Sarah) and Jessica Martin (Mathew Sheardown). She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dear daughter of Leroy and Alice Thomas (both predeceased) and sister of Norm (Paulette), Bob (Marge predeceased), and Verla (Les predeceased). Predeceased by siblings Bill, Leola (Jack), Francis (Everett). Earl (Kay), Gladys (Rosario), George, Charles, Lloyd, Shirley (Ben) and Little Verla. Born in Biggar Saskatchewan, she settled in Coniston marrying Mike in 1954 where she raised her family and resided the rest of her remaining years. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, darts, crafts and just the pleasure of her family. No longer in our home, but forever in our hearts. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5pm and 7-9pm Monday) Funeral Mass in the St. Paul the Apostle Church 30 Cedar Street, Coniston Tuesday October 8th, 2019 at 11am Interment in the family plot at St. John’s Cemetery Garson In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Northern Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choice.
