In Loving Memory of John “Jack” Robert Love 69 years. Passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Health Sciences North. Jack started working at the age of 16 years old in sheet metal, then Curphy Brothers Towing in Toronto. At 18 years, he met Sharon O’Brien while working as a paramedic with Ogden Funeral Home in Toronto in the fall of 1970. The Sacrament of Matrimony was held on June 3rd, 1972 at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Scarborough. Jack and Sharon have three children Darren Robert John born in Scarborough on January 18th, 1973, Trevor Andrew John also born in Scarborough, on June 3rd, 1975 and Alyson Elizabeth born in Lindsay on October 7th, 1977. Jack & Sharon bought their first home in Cameron, Ontario outside of Lindsay in the fall of 1975. With the loss of his father Harold and brothers James and Fred, Jack left the job he loved due to PTSD for a while. He moved the family to Lively, Ontario in 1980. Jack worked for Maislin Transport in Toronto and stayed with his sister and commuted back and forth on his days off. Jack went back to Cambrian College and upgraded his education to include his grade 12 equivalency and Paramedic Qualifications. From there he became the Operations Manager of the Sudbury Ambulance Service owned by Tony Dubé. In 1997, Jack became ill and was diagnosed with MS in January of 1998. Over the years he suffered from many health problems. He tried to prepare his family “Sharon, I have outlived my nine lives”. Jack was an exceptional man. Many thanks to the of Lakes “Platinum Care” team, our family doctor Sarah Duncan, Dr. Monica Susil and Drs. Richardson and Dr. Levasseur for their care and compassion. Also a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mark Deverell and Dr. Barnes of Blind River, Dr. Labante and Dr. Costa Vitali (cardiologist), Dr, Atoui (cardiac Surgeon), Dr. Gohluch (kidney failure specialist), Drs. Jerrod and Shefalee Shukla Kent (ophthalmology surgeons) and Dr. Tilbe (gastrologist) for their expertise and care. Thank you to the LHINS Health Team, CCAC and the Bayshore Team in particular the PSW’s Julie, Kayla, Melissa and Dave who took cared for Jack in his home since April. Also a very special thank you to our Community Paramedic Health Team Garry Lauzon and Trevor Love who are part of the Greater Sudbury Paramedic Emergency Health Services Team. A celebration of his life will be held in Jack’s honour at the Kinsman Hall on Kins Street in Lively on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at 11 am. A hot turkey meal with a potluck will be served. Dress code is “be comfortable”. Family and friends welcome. A burial of Jack’s ashes will be held in Stratford, Ontario in the Spring of 2020. Friends out of town may stay at the Travel Way Inn or Travel Lodge on Paris Street Sudbury, Ontario near Science North and Ramsey Lake.
