Stefanczyk, Cecile (Plottka)

Our Mom passed away peacefully, with family at her side on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Villa at age 89, joining our dad Steve, the love of her life. Mom and Dad left France and arrived in Canada on October 23, 1956 with two small children and Mom expecting. She was an amazing mom, a strong woman, who faced life with confidence, determined to make the best of every situation. She worked hard and always put her family first. She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humour. She was fluent in three languages and loved to read and write. She worked in housekeeping at the Sudbury General Hospital for over thirty years and enjoyed going to work each and every day. She retired at age 65 and made the most of her retirement years visiting and spending time with family and friends. Unfortunately illness required full care assistance during her last few years. She is predeceased by her husband Steve, brother Antoine and sisters Elisabeth and Helene. She will be dearly missed by her children; John (Sharon), Myriam (Ed), Dan (Cathy) and family in France and Poland. Mom will always hold a special place in our hearts. We will cherish our memories, so many unforgettable moments. She touched the lives of many in her own very special way and loved helping people. The family would like to thank the staff who cared for and worked closely with Mom at the Villa. Also a special thank you to all who took the time to visit, call and share in her challenging journey. As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation and the burial at Parklawn Cemetery will be private. “Angels walk among us, only sometimes they don’t have wings… They’re called moms.”
