In Loving Memory of Ernest Urso Saturday, August 17th, 2019 at Health Sciences North. Ernest (Ernie) Urso, in his 99th year. Loving husband of Doris Urso (Wright) predeceased. Loving son of Santo Urso (predeceased) and Nicoletta (Yaconetti) Urso predeceased. Loving father of David Urso (Holly), Brenda Carter (Alex), Robert (Bob) Urso (Kim), and Brian Urso (Tammy). Cherished grandfather of Cameron Urso (predeceased), Nicola Freeman (Nicholas), J. Bailey Urso (Brett Mahy), Alexander Carter, Elizabeth Urso (Justin Lefebvre), and Matthew Urso. Cherished great-grandfather of Amy Freeman and Laurie Mahy. Dear brother of Lina Steel (Don predeceased). Dear brother in law of Tom Wright (Myrtle), Stewart Wright predeceased (Wilma), Jack Wright (Wilda) (both predeceased), Norman Wright (Alice) (both predeceased), Thelma Clark (Bob) (both predeceased), Ethel Bryant (Vern) (both predeceased), Fred Wright (Addie) (both predeceased), and Margaret Thornton (Frank Johnson; George Thornton) (all predeceased). Ernie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ernie was born in Mendicino, Cozenza, Italy, and soon afterwards, his family moved to the neighbouring village of Laurignano, where he spent his early childhood years. He immigrated to Canada as a young teenager, with his family. In a new country, he formed a lifelong friendship with his clarinet. He was a member of many local orchestras over the years, and most recently, played for his friends and neighbours at Finlandia Village, where he entertained at small birthday celebrations and provided music at the weekly church service. Ernie retired from the Department of Highways, after many years of service as a Class A Mechanic. He was a dedicated, hard-working man, who was passionate about family and music. He will be missed. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Tuesday with parish prayers 3pm Tuesday.) Funeral Mass in St. Andrew the Apostle Church 1250 Barrydowne Road, Sudbury Wednesday, August 21st, 2019 at 10am. Interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery.
