MARCOLIN, ROMANO ALBERT: 99 years, passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Saturday, August 10th, 2019. Dear son of Augusto and Angela Marcolin, predeceased. Predeceased by his loving wife Viola (Disalle) in 1992. Survived by his children Randy (Rhonda) of Lively and Debbie Nolan (Mike) of Ottawa. Dear nonno of Steve (Trenessa), Craig (Marcia), Matthew, Katie (Tyler), and Michael (predeceased 2000). Proud bisnonno of Kallaghan, Reid, Eve, Isla, Callan, and Harper. Predeceased by his siblings Angelo, Charlie, Enso, Bruno, Mary Visentin, Irma Condotta, and Amelia Pagnutti. Survived by sisters-in-law Nellie Marcolin of Espanola and Betty Zanchetta (John) of Coniston, and brother-in-law Con Disalle (Liz) of Sudbury. Romano was a stationary engineer and boiler inspector for CP Rail, retiring in 1981 with 38 years of service. In his younger years, he was an all-around handyman, happily doing repairs for his neighbours in “Little Italy” in Copper Cliff, which he was proud to call his home. He was also a life member of the Italian Club of Copper Cliff, and a member of St. Stanislaus Parish for many years. The family wish to thank the staffs of St. Joseph’s Villa and Meadowbrook Retirement Village for the excellent and compassionate care that they have provided to Romano over the past 16 years. As per Romano’s wishes, there is no public visitation. Private family service with interment at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Walden.
