The family of Irene Carol Muraska sadly announces her passing at Health Sciences North on Wednesday June 26, 2019 at the age of 85. Loving daughter of Mary (Slobodian) and William Muraska, both predeceased. Caring sister to the late Helen Biggings(Albert), William Jr. predeceased, Robert(Nadia) and Marilyn Dufresne(Richard). Forever remembered by nieces Sharon (Rob), Carol (Randy) and Kristine (Kirk), great niece and nephews Robbie, Holly, Adam, Elliot, Emery, Easton and great grand nephews Whit and Wrenn. Fondly remembered by cousins and friends. Born and raised in Copper Cliff where she attended public school. She excelled in her studies while attending Sudbury Mining and Technical School. After graduation at the age of seventeen she took a position at Falconbridge Nickel Mines. She retired thirty-five years later as a Computer Programmer to care for her aging parents. During her working years she travelled extensively and was always perusing academic enrichment. Irene was always generous with her time and resources to support any family or friend requiring assistance. A woman of faith, she was a long time member of Our Lady of Hope Parish. Irene was quick-witted and a perfectionist but at the same time was sincere and warm hearted. She will be dearly missed. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff and PSW’s at Meadowbrook Retirement Home for their support and recently as well to the staff on the 4th and 6th floors at HSN. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Anthony’s Church, 19 Mary Street, Sudbury on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at 10:30am Friends may gather at the church after 10am. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. (Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home).
