In loving memory, surrounded by her family, it is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Verna Larocque (Lalonde) at the age of 76 in the evening on Saturday June 22nd, 2019 at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of Ray Larocque (deceased) and loving mother to Nicky St-Jean (Gaétan) from Gatineau and Monique McDonald (James) from Garson. Cherished “Mémé” to Philippe St-Jean (Sonia) and Valérie St-Jean (Mathieu) and Memère to Everett and Elliott McDonald. Dear sister to Richard Lalonde (Madeleine), Diane Lauzon (Jean-Pierre) and Andy Lalonde (Denise). She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She spent endless hours knitting “lavettes” to perfection and was well known by her dog Buddy, her grandkids and “granddogs” for being the Treat Lady. She was famous for her fluked chocolate birthday cake, her “soupe aux boules” and her chicken and sliders (dumplings). She could play the slot machines for hours and hours and hours. She took pride in helping the residents and friends at Red Oak Villa whenever they were in need. She especially enjoyed going on trips down South with Nicky’s family & Les Mongeons and going to camp with Monique’s family but most of all she loved her husband, Ray and her dog, Buddy dearly. The family would like to thank the staff at Red Oak Villa for taking such good care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
