In loving memory of Sam O’Brien who passed away Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 with his loving wife by his side. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Millie (Legault) O’Brien, daughters Debbie O’Brien (Gwen), Nancy Hurtubise (Mike), Sandy O’Brien-Landrie (Rick), granddaughters Samantha Hurtubise (Andrew), Micheline Hurtubise (Jean) and Violet Landrie, great grandchildren Faith, Eva and André. Born to Earl and Violet (Webster) O’Brien (predeceased), loving brother to Raymond O’Brien, Bernard “Bernie” O’Brien, Louisa Cameron, Gail Cameron, Dennis O’Brien and Michael “Mickey” O’Brien all predeceased. Survived by Barry “Curly” O’Brien. Sam was an employee of Falconbridge Nickel Mine (FNM) for 35 years. He was an avid fisherman in his active years; he loved to drive his tractor, spend time at camp and was a volunteer at St. John’s Cemetery until his health issues prevented him. Sam was a quiet and kind man, known for his smile, willingness to help others and knowledge on fixing anything that was broken. He will be missed by many and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may gather on Friday, from 7-9pm and after 12noon Saturday. Funeral prayers in the R.J. Barnard Chapel on Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 at 2pm Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
