With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kaisa Moran on Saturday, June 8. Kaisa came to Canada from Finland as a young girl. She met and married the love of her life, David Moran, while working as a “cookee” in the bush camps in Northern Ontario. Together, they enjoyed cottages on Manitoulin Island and later in Brent. She was an inspiration to her children, Linda & Robert, and to her four grandchildren. Kaisa’s home was always open for family & friends. She loved plants and flowers and spent many hours tending to her gardens and passing on “green thumb” tips to her loved ones. Over the years, she received numerous compliments on her flower gardens that could rival any tourist destination gardens. Her indoor plants literally filled every possible sunny space. Over the years, she had many dogs that benefitted from her kindness & warm heart. She had fond memories of the friends she found while working in many of the restaurants in the Sudbury area. Kaisa taught her family to respect others, to be kind to people & animals, and to always work hard. She was so proud of her Finnish heritage and passed on Finnish pulla and sisu to all who knew her. She leaves a large hole in the hearts of her family, including her daughter Linda Moran-Ferron (Louis), son Robert Moran (Sandy) and grandchildren: Jennifer Ferron (Kara), Sarah Sanderson (Jake), Brendan Ferron (Ann) and Lucas Ferron (Sarah). Predeceased by her parents Kalle and Lempi, brother Paavo and sister Helmi, she will also be greatly missed by her extended family in Finland, as well as her British in-laws. Her amazing friends Connie, Marty, Helen and Stella will have to walk the dogs and ski without her now. Sophie will have to keep learning to be a good dog. At Kaisa’s request, there will be no visitation or service, but rather, an intimate family celebration of her life will be planned for a future date. Donations in Kaisa’s name are gratefully encouraged to any of the following charitable organizations: Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, The University of Ottawa Heart Institute or The Farley Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Online condolences can be posted at www.RangersSudbury.com
