Paivio, Taimi (Johnson)

With sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother Taimi Paivio (Ray predeceased) on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at the age of 97. Born and raised in Sudbury, she was the daughter of Kalle “Charles” Johnson and Riika Lovisa (Nummela) both predeceased. Loving mother to her children Ethel Fournier (Cliff predeceased), Arnold Haapala (Maureen), Harold Haapala (Bev), Eino Myllymaki (predeceased)(Judi) and Eila Myllymaki. Mom was known as Mummu, Nan or Gram to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Loving grandmother to Gary, Matti, Ricky, Shane, Shilo, Karl and Katie. Loving great grandmother to Kristian, Jesse, Jonathan, Alyssa, Brianna, Gabrielle, Julien, and Kira. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by all her siblings and their spouses, Bill (Aino), Katri Charsley (Oliver), Leo, Karlo, Aili Wainio (Kusti), Viesti Salo (Eino), Raymond (Kaija), Elvi Petryna (Bill) and two little sisters, Ethel and Helvi. Thank you to the staff on the 6th floor at Extendicare York for their support and care in helping us through this journey of our mother’s life. Special thanks to PSW Tiffany for taking such great care of our mom, so appreciated. We love you Mom soar with the angels you have earned it. As per Mom’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. Cremation with interment in the Park Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at 11am.
