Fex, Fernand 'Fern'

In Loving Memory of Fernand “Fern” Fex 91 years After a long full life of no regrets, Fern passed away peacefully, with loving family by his side at Health Sciences North on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019. The loving husband and best friend of Raymonde (Gagné) Fex, happily married on October 6th, 1952. During 63 years of marriage they provided their children with an extraordinary example of married life and faith. He would always say “I took care of her, and she took care of me.” The loving dad of Normand (Christianne), Conrad (Sue), Roger, Monique Sheppard (Christopher), Denise Moore (Terry), Colette, and John (Hillary). He will be sorrowfully missed by Leo and Hector Gagne, to whom he was a dad for most of their lives. Attentive and affectionate grandpa of 28 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his children Cyril and Elaine, his parents Adélard and Yvonne (Lafontaine) Fex and great grandson Simon. Dear brother of Theresse Plourde (Rene), Simonne Fex (Garmine), and Rosanne Plourde (Nelson), and predeceased by Laurent (Gabrielle; Edna), Jeanne Beausoleil (Raymond), Alex (Anna), Beth Henrie (Roger), Hector (Lucille), Leonne Desabrais (Victor), Bruno (Helene), and Eugenie. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. It is nearly impossible to summarize 91 years of living and loving. He was a kind and gracious man, who loved with all his might. He loved children, and always had a grandchild or two at his side or on his knee. He was a man of simple pleasures, and everyone who was lucky enough to know him, will miss him dearly. He is reunited with his beloved Raymonde, and might this very moment be presenting her with flowers. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel (4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer) (Friends may call 2-5:30pm Sunday) Funeral Mass in Notre Dame de la Rosaire Church 2758 Main Street, Valley East Monday, May 27th, 2019 at 10am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at Blezard Valley Cemetery. As Dad always said, “Mais oui, le Seigneur est Bon”.
