It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces the passing of a dear husband, father and grandfather, Kenneth Joseph Talevi on May 7th, 2019 at the age of 70 after his battle with cancer. Ken grew up in Gatchell. Beloved son of Lolo and Josephine Talevi. Both predeceased. Brother to Lawrence predeceased (Cathy), Roy predeceased (Lucy deceased), Robert (Carol) and Joe (Debbie). Ken loved playing baseball. In the late 60’s, he played fast ball as a pitcher for a team at O’Connor Park. He then played blooper ball in Coniston. Ken was known for hitting the ball over the fence many times. He also enjoyed fishing with friends, gardening, planting tomatoes, cucumbers and garlic. He enjoyed cooking, especially his pasta sauce and chicken broth. He was particular about his yard and his lawn was always cut and manicured. Ken worked at Inco for 30 years in the transportation department. He retired at the age of 48. He later became the ultimate babysitter for his grandson and best friend Alex. He will be sadly missed by his wife Diane of 53 years, his children Kevin (Tammy) and Shelley (Sylvio) and his beautiful granddaughters Jessica and Jasmine and grandson Alex. Also remembered by his nieces and nephews. Ken enjoyed the company of his family and friends. For those of you who knew Ken, raise your beer and say a cheer to toast him and the memories you have and “put a loonie in the juke box”. Special thanks to the Shared Care Team Donna, Claire, Dr. Walton and Mark. Also, to the staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice. At Ken’s request, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at the Colonial Inn, 28 Cedar Street, Coniston on Tuesday May 14th, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated. (Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Services.)
