Carrière, Alfred 'Fred'

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Alfred (Fred) Carrière on May 8, 2019 at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Remi & Léonie Carrière. Predeceased by his spouse Florianne Carrière (née Pitre) and survived by his spouse Jeannine Pitre (née Dupuis). He leaves behind his children: Lynn Carrière (Rick), Normand (Cheryl) Carrière, Roxanne (Francis) David, his step sons Germain (Lucille) Pitre, Bertrand Pitre, Paul (Marielle). Also survived by his grandchildren: Stephanie (Tom) , Mandy Carrière, PJ Gauthier (Valérie), Amy (Brad) Vernon, Karyne Carrière, Dominique David (Dimitri), Renée-Claude Carrière, Mika David, his great grandchildren: Dillon Milani, Kyra Vernon, Sophie Desrochers and his step-grandchildren: Catherine, Alexandre, Geneviève, Éric, Janelle et Michelle. Dear brother of Claire (Léon) Chartrand (both deceased), Angèle (Paul Brosseau (deceased)), Marie-Ange (Claude) Mayer, Rachel (Art) Lépine (both deceased), Gérard (Colleen) Carrière, Rénald (Huguette) Carrière, Marcel (Janet) Carrière Jeanne-D’arc (Paul) Courchesne, Jacques (Edith), Nicole (Denis) Nadeau. He will also be remembered by his brother’s and sister in-law’s (Pitre). Fred first worked at Inco for 17 years. Fred and Flo were the proud owners of the Voyageur Auto in Noëlville for 21 years where Fred worked as a mechanic. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #4435 and was actively involved in his community. Fred was a great host and enjoyed cooking fish fries for family and friends. He also loved gardening during his retirement years. Many laughs were shared when Fred would sing ‘’ En revenant de rigaud’’ and played his harmonica. The family will receive friends and family at St-David’s parish hall on Sunday May 12, 2019 from 2-5 & 7-9:30. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday May 13, 2019 at 11 am at St-David’s Church. The family would like to express a special thank you to all staff that cared for him during his stay at Pioneer Manor.
