Surrounded by loved ones, Jacob Verner Kallio passed away on Thursday, March 14th, 2019 at the Health Sciences North Hospital in Sudbury, Ontario. He was in his 90th year. Jack is predeceased by his beloved wife Lea Kallio, sister Gail, daughters Susan Bell, Gail Kallio, and Darlene Glenesk; grandsons Erik Bulfon and Kyle O’Quinn. He is survived by children Bonnie (George McNabb), Jack Kallio (Jo-Anne O’Quinn-Kallio), Karen Bulfon; sisters Gloria Pakkala and Carol Tate; his 8 grandchildren: Chad Bruce, Megan Dawson, Anthony and Vanessa Bulfon, Laura Bell, Miranda and Julian Glenesk, and Kaslyn Kallio; 5 great-grandchildren: Brooke, Will and Christopher, Myles and Adriana Dawson; and dear friend Betty Boyce. To know Jack is to understand the meaning of integrity, commitment and honour. He was the proud patriarch of his Kallio clan and he enjoyed camp life, golfing, curling, fishing, hunting and travelling. Jack was also a Mason, a Shriner, and a pilot. He truly enjoyed his life. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Health Sciences North. Jack was an inspiration to us all and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Memorial Service in the Lougheed Funeral Home 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury Sunday, March 17th, 2019 at 2pm. (Friends may gather after 1pm Sunday).
