Tokola, J. Paavo

Paavo Juhani Tokola passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North on March 10, 2019 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Sisko Anna-Liisa (nee Ojala). Paavo was a loving father of Marita Saari (Elias), Maria Saari predeceased (Jarmo), Marlene Mallinen (Petri), and Henry Tokola (Lorie). He was a cherished grandfather of Pia Saari, Kristen Bertrand (Gerard), Juhani Saari (Tanya), Keni Mallinen (Caitie Harries), Shaun Mallinen, Trevor Tokola (Emily), and Kevin Tokola. He will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren Sofia, Liisa, and Jeremy Bertrand; Mackenzie, and Miika Saari. Paavo will be missed by his five sisters and three brothers, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. At Paavo’s request there will be a private family service with no visitation. Interment will take place at the Whitefish Public Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Finlandia Sisu Saari-Tokola Capital Fund or New Hope Lutheran Church are welcome.
