In Loving Memory of Violet Beatrice Burgess (nee Pilkington) 84 years Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Kirkwood. Beloved wife of Roy Burgess predeceased. Loving mother of Richard Brunet (Margaux), Clarence Brunet (Marlene) and Brent Brunet (Barbara). Grandmother of Justin, Colin, Jamie and Brandon. Predeceased by her parents Frank & Verna Pilkington. Dear sister of Alice Cunningham (Bob), Robert Pilkington (Claudette predeceased), Shirley Craig predeceased (Arnold also predeceased), John Pilkington (Janet) (Linda predeceased) and Catherine Potvin (Daryl predeceased). She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Violet was born and raised in the Greater Sudbury area in the town of Coniston. She’ll be fondly remembered by her son’s for her strong independent spirit, her courage to challenge the status quo and her loving support in their development. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many doctors, nurses, PSWs, rehab specialists and staff for taking such good care of Violet during her time at Kirkwood. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. A grave side service will take place in the spring and she will be buried alongside her parents in the Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations to Kirkwood Centre satellite site of North Bay hospital in Sudbury, Dementia Unit (Oakwood Lodge 3rd floor) would be appreciated by the family.
