In loving memory of John Juhas, loving husband of Violet (Choma) Juhas. Dear father of Pam (Frank Kirwan), Darcy (Kathy) Juhas. Grandfather of Tyler (Danielle), Venessa (Chris), Jessica, Julie and Makaylee. Great grandfather to Mackenzie, Joshua and Niko. John was born May 5th 1929 in the village of Horna Slovakia to parents John Juhas and Elizabeth (Lebac) Juhas both predeceased. At the age of nine years he and his mother immigrated to Canada to join his father in Sudbury. Dear brother to Mike (Jean), Mary (late Val Dumencu). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. John graduated from Sudbury Tech and Mining school and he worked at International Nickel Company for 32 years, retiring in 1985. John always had an interest in added education. He received his real estate license and enjoyed a second career. Among his other interest was building a few houses from the trees that he cut and milled on his own saw mill, photography, card playing, square dancing, deer hunting on Manitoulin Island and gardening which kept him active. John was community minded. In the early years he was road commissioner in Louise township, special constable for the townships of Dennison, Drury and Graham, president of the Penage Road Community Centre, member of the Lions Club, boy scout leader. John and Violet moved to a farm in Whitefish in 1956, where he still resided until recently. He spent his remaining time at the Espanola Nursing Home. His short stay there was enjoyed and he loved all the special care he received from an awesome staff. As per John’s wishes, no visitations or service. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Simple Wishes of the North.
