It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Zola Fern Shannon on February/26/2019. She passed comfortably at Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury, Ontario. Born June 6th,1929 to Wilbert and Blanche Harrison, predeceased. Also predeceased by her sister Dorothy Beyette. Loving Mother of son Sheldon Shannon, daughter-in-law Rosie, beloved grandchildren Carrie Anne Moxam (Robert), Derek Shannon (Stephanie) and Ryan Shannon (Loni), great-grandchildren Brandon, Shannon, Cameron, Tia, Mackenzie, Tyler, Benjamin, Andrew and Eva. Also remembered by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends throughout Canada and the USA. Mom was from salt of the earth, simple, hard working homesteaders. They taught her the values of faith, love, caring and being there to help those in need. She had a strong conviction in the Lord and was a relentless crusader and warrior for Christ. Her faith never wavered and it was with a certainty she was going to meet her Saviour. To know Mom was to feel the love she had for others. To all who helped Mom, Rosie and myself throughout each step of her journey I thank you with the utmost humility. A special thank you to Pastor Larry and Pastor Kyle as well as her Cornerstone congregation. She loved each of you dearly. Your comfort and support throughout these trying times were appreciated more than you will ever know. Also her special friends from the apartment complex who became such an intricate part of her life. Each of you have become like family to me. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, personal support workers and staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice. The praises I could exude for each would never do justice. If ever there were angels on this earth these beautiful people qualify. Mom is resting at The Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Visitation on Monday, March 4/19 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Service in the RJ Barnard Chapel to follow at 1:00P.M. Donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Zola’s name would be appreciated. Gone but with us always and forever loved, never forgotten.
