Raymond, M. Richard 'Dick'

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard “Dick” Michael Raymond announces his passing at Simcoe Hospice after a brief illness, on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the age of 82. Predeceased by his parents Fedime “Fred” Raymond and Jeanne D’Arc (nee Mayer). He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Danielle (nee Latulippe). Proud father to daughter Caroleene (Ron), son Richard (Jeanne), and most cherished grandpa to Melissa, Mackenzie, Samantha, Veronica, Jeanne, Kaelan, Ashley and Dallas. Dear brother to Maureen Sullivan, Shannon Sullivan, and Timothy Sullivan. Special godfather to Daniel Wong. Lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends. Born May 11, 1936 in Garson, ON, Richard joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on his 17th birthday and served for 27 years, retiring in 1980 having attained the rank of Master Corporal. Following his retirement from the RCAF he worked for CP Air, then Canadian Airlines. Upon his complete retirement he became a full-fledged snow bird, enjoying the warmth of Florida six months a year and thoroughly enjoyed not having to wear socks in the winter ever again. Richard will be especially remembered for being a gentleman, above all else. All of Richard’s family and friends share an emptiness and heartbreak that will never disappear, but his love, kindness and humour will be in all our memories forever. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude and appreciation to the Barrie Royal Victoria Hospital, Simcoe Hospice, and Amica Little Lake for their outstanding care and compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Simcoe Hospice, www.hospicesimcoe.ca, in the name of Richard Michael Raymond, would be greatly appreciated by the family. In accordance with Richard’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and his remains will be scattered at a time and place to be selected by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Amica Little Lake, 70 Lakeside Terrace, Barrie, ON on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 1-4 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Richard’s life with his family.
