Evelyn “Jean” Vuk passed away peacefully in palliative care at Health Sciences North early on February 7, 2019. Jean was born January 7, 1932 to Lily and David Ellison in Toronto. The family soon moved to Hamilton where Jean graduated from Hamilton General Hospital as an R.N. . It was in Hamilton that Jean met and married Mladen Vuk (predeceased) and moved with him to Sudbury. Jean worked in obstetrics at Sudbury General Hospital for many years, where she helped deliver and care for future Sudburians. Jean is lovingly remembered by her children Wendy (Jay) Phillips, David, and Jackie (Stephen) Knowles, and her grandsons Alexander, Barron, and Jarrett (Stacy). She is dearly missed by her sister Eileen (Bill, predeceased) Headon and nieces Virginia, Donna and Sharon. A celebration of life is being planned for a future date at St. Andrew’s United Church, Sudbury. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences North for their compassionate care that eased Jean’s passing and the staff at Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services. Memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd.
