It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Françoise Comacchio (née Barbe) in her 94th year. Wife of Ugo (predeceased), mother of Elaine (Denis Blais predeceased), Richard (Janet Glass), Pauline (Michel Gravelle) and Robert (Patricia Fantin). Grandmother of : David (Abbie), Mathieu (Erin), Daniel; Amy, Jennifer (Rich), Daniella, Jonathan, Katherine, Samantha; Andrė, Françoise, Louise (Greg); Lisa and Christina and great-grandmother to: Samuel, Benjamin, Theodore; Claire; Sierra, Bonds, Xavier; Mika, Kian, Mėdrik; Camil; Julian, Rose and Emmett. Predeceased by her parents, Émile and Florence Barbe (née St. Georges) as well as her siblings: Annette, André “Andy” (Frances), Hector (Lorraine), Aimé (Vivian), Marguerite Core and Joseph. She is survived by her sister Martha Morrison (William predeceased), her brother Léo “Lefty” (Helen), her sisters-in-law Anne Baggio (Julio predeceased), Zita Tramontini (Bruno predeceased) and Noreen Barbe and her brother-in-law William Core as well as many beloved cousins and nieces and nephews. She was a woman of deep and abiding faith. Her life was bounded by family, community and her church. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Coniston, a member of the choir and the Catholic Woman's League for 70 years. She loved family, parties and fun. She played the piano and sang and made a happy home for her husband and children as well as her large extended family. She embodied the proverb: “A home does not rest upon the ground but on a woman.” She will be greatly missed. Resting at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 on Sunday February 10, 2019. Funeral mass at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Coniston, Monday February 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the staff in the Poplar unit of Pioneer Manor for their kind and gentle care.
