Dumontelle, Claudette 'Clo' (Blake)

In Loving Memory of Claudette “Clo” Dumontelle (Blake) Peacefully, Sunday morning, January 13th, 2019 at Health Sciences North, with loving family at her side. Beloved wife of Donald (predeceased 2001). Loving mother of Dion (Brenda), Darren, and Dawn. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Meghan Bodden (Jaciel), and Lindsey and great grandchildren Abby and Kiyan. Predeceased by her parents, Denis and Lucy, and her stepmother Edna. Dear sister of George and Conrad (both predeceased) and sister in law of Joan Chesser (Martin) and Lysette Blake. Dear aunt of Marty (Maria), Greg (Janet), Mary-Catherine (Bob), Paul (Cathy), Renee, and Anna-Lisa and their children. Sadly missed by her good friends Audrey, Mary, Esther, Laurie and Gerry Portelance. Survived by many cousins from the Blake family and her feline friend Ryder. Born in Falconbridge, Clo married Donald in 1959. They settled in Coniston in 1961 where she taught school at St. Paul the Apostle until she retired in 1991 with 35 years of service. She loved teaching so much she continued supply teaching for a number of years after retirement. Committed to her Catholic faith, she was a CWL member at St. Paul for 57 years, serving as President for a couple of terms. She was also a former member of Twin Stacks Golf Club, active member of the Coniston Seniors Golden Age Club and was involved in the community garden. She was a proud member of a committee along with Sandra Boyd, Lorraine McGregor, and Tepper Caverson, to rename the Coniston Arena to the Toe Blake Memorial Arena. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments. She will especially be missed by Darren and Dawn who have been at her side since Donny’s death. Many thanks to the ICU doctors and nurses at Health Sciences North who provided exceptional care to Mom during her brief illness. Special thanks to Sister Bonnie Chesser for her prayers and guidance during Mom’s hospital stay. We love you to the moon and back. We’ll see you when we see you.
