It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Victor Talbot. Richard (Rick) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Born on February 23, 1937, Rick was the devoted son of Georges and Agnes (Lamothe) Talbot, both predeceased and stepson to Placide Dubois Sr (predeceased). Richard will be profoundly missed and forever loved by his wife Monique. Richard and Monique married August 12, 1961 and shared 57 wonderful years together. Through their love, Richard and Monique raised their three daughters Danielle (husband Cory), Sylvie (husband Gilles) and Natalie (husband John). He shared many special moments with his 6 grandchildren Melissa, Kayla, Andrée-Anne, Danika, Justin and Evan. Brother to Normand Talbot (predeceased and wife Noreen), Colleen Cornthwaite (husband Bill, both predeceased), Claire Lamirande (husband Louis, predeceased), Claude Talbot (wife Lina), Yvon Talbot (wife Diane), Placide Jr Dubois (wife Diane), Gerard Dubois (wife Suzanne), Jeannette Polsky (husband Glenn) and Marcel Dubois (wife Linda). Richard will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Richard will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend, hunter, fisherman, competitor, athlete, golfer, curler and card shark. Rick devoted over 30 years in the mining industry in many capacities but was especially proud of his years as a training instructor. The family would like to thank the staff at the Northeast Cancer Centre, at medical day and in the Emergency department for their care and attention. We would also like to recognize the care and support provided by Home care, nursing and PSW. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Cooperative Funeral Home at 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury from 4-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at la Paroisse St-Jean de Brébeuf, 26 Kathleen St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque or online to the Northern Cancer Foundation or a charity of choice. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
