Fournel, Jean

It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on Tuesday, January 1st, 2019 at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband of Claire (née Lalande) Fournel of Hanmer. Son of the late Gaëtan and late Cécile (nee Carrière) Fournel. Loving father of Bernard (Michelle) and Roxan Lalonde (Raymond). Dear brother of Claire Lapierre (Alcide), Robert and predeceased by his brother Michel (Monique). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Daniel, Gabrielle, Sébastien and Joël. Jean founded the Knights of Columbus Assembly, 4th Degree 3156 (Ste-Marguerite d’Youville) on December 30th, 2008. He was a very generous man who has touched many lives, he loved helping others, dancing, skiing and going for walks. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4570, St-Joseph St., Hanmer on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, January 7th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse.
