In Loving Memory of Rudy Toffoli 86 Years Peacefully, November 10, 2018 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Rudy was the beloved husband of Jane (nee St. Pierre) Toffoli who he married in Sudbury on August 17, 1957. Together they raised their four children, Deborah of Sudbury, Anthony of Ottawa, Michael (Adele) of Coniston, and Vicki of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of Samuel (Jordan), Emily, Jacob, Nicolas, Alexis and great-grandfather of Callaghan. Beloved son of Leo and Anna Toffoli both predeceased. Loving brother of Tom (Yvonne) of North Bay and Evelyn Gazdic (Steve predeceased) of Azilda. Rudy was born in Montreal on August 3, 1932. Rudy attended elementary and secondary school in Copper Cliff and continued his education with Cambrian College. Rudy owned and operated Rudy’s Pickled Products in the 60’s providing many local bars with pickled eggs. Rudy retired as a supervisor with INCO in 1987 after 35 years of dedicated service. In his younger years, Rudy was a keen competitor and good athlete in many sports and went on to coach minor hockey in Levack and Sudbury. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting, golfing and had an interest in politics. Rudy was a Past member of the Levack-Onaping Elks, the INCO Quarter Century Club and was a lifetime member of the Caruso Club. He was the inaugural chair for the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP), Sudbury and District chapter then became the Northern Ontario representative. Rudy was known for his wit and sense of humour and devotion to his family. He was known as Papa Rudy to his grandchildren whom he took great joy and pride in and all of their accomplishments and recently his newest joy, his great-grandson Callaghan. Rudy was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and brother in-law. A good person to have in your corner when in need at anytime. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Tom Crichton, Dr. MacDonald and Dr. Christie. At Rudy’s request there will be no visitation or service. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Any donations to the Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Society would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home. Interment at Civic Memorial Cemetery.
