In Loving Memory of Shirley Halverson (nee Osborne) 90 Years Peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 with loving family at her side in Sudbury. Beloved wife of Olious “Dick” Halverson (predeceased). Loving mother of Linda predeceased (Ed), Sheila, Karen, Corinne (Steven), Randy (Bev) and predeceased by Tom. Cherished grandmother of Andrea (Dwight), Kristina (Amir), Kailyn (Mark), Brittany (Slava) and Emily (Travis) and great-grandmother to Ethan, Brayden, Justin, Elizabeth and Alexandra. Beloved daughter of Sam and Jean (nee Meikle) Osborne. Loving sister to Margaret predeceased (Bill predeceased), Bert predeceased, Bill (Lou) and sister-in-law Helen (Andrew predeceased). Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Shirley excelled at being a loving wife, mother and supportive friend to many. She loved sewing, cooking, gardening and bridge. Shirley was a proud Conistonian and active member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Coniston. She enjoyed her last three years at Finlandia Village. The family would like to extend thanks and appreciation to the many staff and care workers at Finlandia who brought bright and happy moments to mom every day. Special thanks to the 6th floor staff at HSN for their compassionate and friendly care and to Dr. G. Bakker at Finlandia and Dr. K. deBlacam whose care over the years to our family has been both reassuring and sound. Funeral Visitation at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. (Parish prayers at 7:00 P.M.) Funeral Mass at St. Paul the Apostle 1 Edward Ave N., Coniston Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 11 A.M. Interment in the family plot at St. John’s Cemetery, Garson. In lieu of flowers donations to Finlandia SISU Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated.
