It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mélisa Kingsley at the Maison McCullogh Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family. She is survived by her parents Gilles and Lianne (Prévost) Kingsley, her brother Mathieu, her sister Mireille, her partner Ryan O’Bonsawin and her cockapoo Buddy. Cherished granddaughter of Gérard (predeceased) and Lucille Kingsley and Donald and Patricia Prévost and Marielle (predeceased). Special niece to Nicole and Terry Jansen (Sarah and Sean), Colette and Pierre Perrin (Meghan and Christopher), Lise Kingsley and Lise and Larry Eliadis (Cassandra, Brittany, Alex). Mélisa was a straight-A student, an avid lover of sports and during her young life had played soccer, basketball, volleyball and tennis but she excelled at hockey. She graduated from the Sudbury Lady Wolves hockey program to earn a scholarship with the University of Ottawa Gee Gees women’s hockey team. Mélisa will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Special thanks to the McGaughey family as well as Melisa’s extended hockey family, the Sudbury Lady Wolves and the University of Ottawa Gee Gees. A memorial mass will take place at St-Jean de Brébeuf Church on November 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends may gather at the church after 9:30 a.m. Donations to the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer or the Maison McCullogh Hospice would be appreciated.
