In loving memory of Douglas “Doug” Donovan who passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Sunday, October 21st, 2018 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Heather Donovan of Sudbury. Loving father of Allen Donovan of Dowling, Stewart Donovan of Levack and Michael Donovan (partner John Ryan) of Ottawa. Dear step-father of Colin Ockenden of Sudbury and James Ockenden (wife Michelle) of Hanmer. Beloved grandfather of Brandon, Rian, Dylane, Jillian, Kyle, Logan, Jasmine and Summer. Also survived by his brother Kenneth Donovan (wife Eleanor) of Barrie and Beverley Manderson of Kelowna BC. He was predeceased by his brother John. Doug was born in Toronto on February 2, 1942 to parents Anna and William Donovan, both predeceased. Doug moved to the Greater Sudbury Area in the early 1970’s. For 30 years, he was employed by INCO as a miner. For over 40 years, Doug was a member and advocate with “AA”. In his spare time, he enjoyed carpentry projects, woodworking, reading and walking his dog. Doug will be remembered as a very loving and caring individual. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
