Beloved wife of John J. Mallek predeceased. Loving mother of Debra Crane (Philip), John Mallek (predeceased) (Kathleen), and Kathy Mallek (Brian Kelly). Cherished grandmother of Corey Crane (Kim), Ryan Stutt (Dayna), Todd Crane (Angela), Anthea Bilodeau (Marc), Laura Kennedy (Jamie), and Jordy Mallek (Tanya), and great grandchildren Carson, Kohen, Hannah, Reece, Chase, Keane, Shea, Jaxon, Emma, Kieran, Parker, Sammy, and Ellis. Dear daughter of Victor and Viola (nee Pepper) Newman both predeceased. Dear sister of Audrey Papp predeceased (Sandor). Dear sister in law to Earl and Annie Hearty and Arthur Therriault. Mom grew up and was married in Chapleau. Dad and Mom made the best decision to raise their family in Levack, and later in life they moved to Sudbury. Mom’s final years were spent at the Southwind Retirement Home. Dad and Mom spent many a winter in Florida, and made many friends. Fishing and hunting partridge with Dad was always a priority to her, especially with Annie and Earl, Ronnie and Lil. Mom was the happiest when cooking and baking for her loved ones. All her grandchildren and great-grandchildren sported one of “GG’s” knitting projects. While in Sudbury, Mom volunteered at the cancer centre. The family would like to thank Dr. Singh and Janice with the Palliative Care Team, and all the nurses and staff that Mom met on her journey. A special thanks to the 4th Floor Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and great care. Mom is now hugging and laughing with her two Johns. Following Mom’s wishes, she is to be cremated with a graveside service at Maplecrest Cemetery, Dowling, on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018 at 2pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer (NOFCC) would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
