In loving memory of Aloma Margaret Johnson (May 8, 1942 – September 18, 2018). Daughter of Lester and Margaret Johnson (both predeceased). Sadly missed by brother Ken, sister-in-law Pierrette, nephews Marc, Mathieu, David, niece Emilie and great nephews and nieces. A teacher for over 30 years, “Miss Johnson” educated, nurtured, and loved generations of students. Aloma shared her great love of music with her students and after retirement, volunteered with Gilbert and Sullivan theatre group. Aloma was very talented in cooking, arts and crafts, and interior decorating. She was justifiably proud of her “showcase” condo. Sharing her parents’ love of gardening, Aloma was a former member of the Sudbury Horticultural Society and earned her title as Master Gardener. Aloma had a phenomenal knack for remembering people and events, which she loved to share with family and friends. Keenly aware of her past, Aloma was also a woman of the present, adept at travelling the world through her computer and communicating with others through e-mail and Facebook. Special thanks to the staff and residents of Extendicare York for their excellent care, companionship, and friendship over the past few years. Aloma was also deeply grateful to the clergy and parishioners of St. Peter’s United Church for their friendship and support. “It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them.” (Author Unknown). Aloma will not easily be forgotten. Donations to the NEO Kids Foundation c/o Health Sciences North, or to St. Peter’s United Church, Sudbury, would be appreciated. A memorial service in Aloma’s honour will be held at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
