O'Leary, Christine 'Chrissy'

In loving memory of Christine “Chrissy” O’Leary, of Ottawa, who passed away in Sudbury on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018 at the age of 44 years. Beloved wife of Dr. Derick Cyr of Ottawa. Loving daughter of Mary Ryfa (husband and bonus dad Gary Baker) of Rouyn-Noranda and the late Patrick O’Leary. Dear sister of Julie Ann O’Leary (husband Dominic Mock) of South Carolina. Cherished aunt of Isaiah, Adrian and Nyeima. Also survived by many other relatives on her side of the family and Derick’s side (Glenn, Nicole, Stephie, and Keenan) as well as many dear friends. She was predeceased by all of her grandparents. Chrissy was born in Toronto on April 30th, 1974. Prior to her illness, she worked as a psychologist. Before moving to Ottawa, she also spent time in Newfoundland and Sudbury. Some of her favourite pastimes were cooking, curling, swimming, travelling, reading and simply enjoying a glass of white wine with family and friends at home or at a pub. Chrissy will be remembered as a very kind, quiet and reserved individual who was academically inclined. She had a great sense of humour and a heart of gold. She touched the lives of so many in a positive way and will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Chrissy’s life will take place at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Church (lower hall), 40 Notre-Dame Avenue in Sudbury on Wednesday, September 26th, 2018. Friends may gather at the church after 6:00 p.m. that day (prayers at 7). Reverend Shelley Kennedy will be officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
