Dornbush, Elizabeth

In Loving Memory Of Elizabeth Dornbush: It is with great sorrow that we announce the recent unexpected passing of Elizabeth Scott Dornbush, beloved wife of recently passed Philip Dornbush, and devoted mother of Alex and Chris. Elizabeth was born in Owen Sound to parents Gertrude and Seaton. She was the younger sister to Bob and June Scott. Elizabeth fell in love and married Philip Dornbush in 1969 and after living abroad they eventually settled in Sudbury. A vivid and widely read lifelong learner, Elizabeth had a multitude of passions which led her to many roles in her life: a psychiatric nurse; a college English lecturer; a teen consular; an avid gardener; a local theatre actress, writer, and critic; an artisan quilter; and a committed cat fosterer. All who knew Elizabeth know her as a highly intelligent and precise worldly lady of Literature, caring and compassionate woman, both for humans and pets alike, who was filled with pragmatism, determination, wit, and an abundant love of Life. Above all, Elizabeth was a committed mother and wife who through times good and bad, held steadfast and maintained the helm of the family. Her profound love, her considerate nurturing, and her tireless encouragement to her sons was without limits. Her love further extended to her granddaughters Cora, Kate, Ella and Riley of whom she derived tremendous joy and pride to see developing into intelligent and confident young ladies. She also dearly loved her daughters-in-law, Melissa and Helen, as daughters of her own. She will be dearly missed by many. Let us remember her in our hearts by the words of her high school motto which she held dear and oft quoted: While we live, let us live! A Celebration of her life will take place at the family farm in Old Wanup on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations to the Small Things or any animal related charity. Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Service.
