The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the age of 64 years. Loving daughter of Marjorie Burns and the late George Burns of Sprucedale. Beloved mother of Angela Dailey and Jill Dailey-Brunet (Stéphane) both of Sudbury. Dear sister of Bill “Bud” Burns of Sprucedale and Jim Burns (Laura) of North Bay. Predeceased by her brother Peter Burns. Cherished grandmother to Natasha Gosselin (Simon Cope), Ethan Gosselin and Evan Gosselin all of Sudbury. Remembered by her beloved best friend Grandma Jan. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sadly missed by her canine companion Hazel and her grand-dogs Charlie and Bugzy. Linda was a retired police officer with the Greater Sudbury Police Service and was very well respected amongst her peers and co-workers. Linda will be remembered for her commitment to working with “her seniors” as the Seniors Liaison Officer. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the All Nations Church, 414 St-Raphael Street, Sudbury, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. Donations to Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers or the Northern Cancer Foundation can be made by cheque or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
