Falconer, J. Mary (McInnis)

In loving memory of Mary Josephine Falconer (nee McInnis), who passed away Thursday, September 6th, 2018 at the age of 94 years, at St. Joseph’s Villa, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Roy Charles Falconer predeceased. Loving mother of Barbara McNamara (Mervin). Cherished grandmother of Diane Gouchie (Darren), Anne McNamara-McGee (Paul), Jane Reilly (Ed), and Joan Rocca (Dino). Great grandmother to Kira, Kyle, Karson, Holly, Joey, Casey, Brady, Kristin, and Patrick. Predeceased by her parents Martha and John McInnis and siblings Agnes and Charlie. Cherished sister-in-law to Bob Houle. Special mention to her good friend and angel on earth, Dorothy Ackland, whose care and compassion towards Mary were outstanding. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on September 29th, 1923, Mary was the salt of the earth and captured the true spirit of an East Coaster. She was loving and kind and would share all she had with others. Her door was always open for a good cup of tea and hospitality. She loved all creatures, great and small, and would give what she could to help local animal charities. Her most recent dog, Muppi, was a very special part of her life, and they can now be together again. She loved music and movies, especially her favourite singer, Daniel O’Donnell, and actor, Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. She took great pride in her work, as was evident in her many years of dedication at St. Rita’s Hospital on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, where she worked in the housekeeping department. All who were fortunate enough to have had Mary in their lives cherished and loved her. She will finally be reunited with Roy, her one true love of 68 years, where they can continue their journey together. Rest in Peace Nana Mary, you will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to the local animal charity of your choice would be appreciated. At Mary’s request, there will be no funeral visitation or service. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery, Sudbury. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
