Surrounded by the love of his family, Michel Gagnon, 75 years passed away peacefully at the Maison McCulloch Hospice on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Beloved husband of 53 years to Dora (Dini) Gagnon. Loving father of Caroline Belanger (Michel) and Pierre Gagnon (Judy Paulauskas). Cherished grandfather of Stephane (Erin), Melanie and Matthieu Belanger and great-grandfather of Benoit. Born in Verner, ON, he was the son of the late Aurele and Claire (Filiatreault) Gagnon. Dear brother of François (Anni) and special uncle of Jeannette and Jennifer Gagnon, Marc Brunette and Mario Peloso. He was also brother-in-law of Rose Peloso. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Michel was a very charitable man who contributed to fundraisers held by Artists on Elgin. He loved nature and saw beauty in the smallest of things. A very humble and forgiving man who was always willing to lend an ear. Another passion of Michel’s was his keen eye for photography which led to several of his photos being published in various magazines. Michel loved to laugh but what brought him the greatest joy in life were the times he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the centre of his life. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, 26 Kathleen Street, Sudbury, on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Church after 10:00 a.m. Donations in his memory can be made directly to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Online condolences can be posted at www.RangersSudbury.com
