Walker, Kerttu 'Gertie' (Rosendahl)

In Loving Memory of Kerttu “Gertie” Walker (nee Rosendahl) 91 years Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 at St. Gabriel’s Villa, Chelmsford. Beloved wife of Thomas Walker predeceased 2015. Loving mother of Doug (Fran) of Orangeville and Deb Blanchette (Andy) of Azilda. Cherished grandma of Chris Walker (Jody), Bill Walker (Nicky), Myra Ritter (Mark), Bryan Walker (Desirée), Carly Blanchette (Will) and Cody Blanchette, and great grandma of Johnathan, Joshua, Henry, Kevin and Alex. Dear daughter of Toivo and Lyyli (Paalimaki) Rosendahl both predeceased. Sadly missed by friends Ray (Airi predeceased), Lois and Henry, and Muriel (aka Eleanor). Gertie had a passion for travelling having been on many trips. She enjoyed playing the game Chance and she was a very lucky person, having won a few trips and other items. She was a bookkeeper and very good with numbers. She loved to bake, always using a lot of butter but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a very proud and self-sufficient woman and the matriarch of our family. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Gabriel’s Villa for their outstanding care of “Gertie Birdie” and their support. Following with Gertie’s wishes there will be no formal visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
