Peroff, Johnnie 'John' 'Satch' 'Kenny'

In loving memory of Johnnie (John)(Satch)(Kenny) Peroff who peacefully passed away at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre on Tuesday August 14th, 2018 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of 30 years to Beverley (Oldenburg). Proud and devoted father to Jeffrey (Laurie May), James, Jonathan (Sherri), and Robert Urwin (Sandra). Loving Dedo to grandchildren Ken, Melissa, Michael, Scott, Andrew, Emily, and Megan. John was an extremely dedicated father and grandfather who left a legacy of lasting memories for a family that, although saddened, are grateful and blessed to have grown up with their hero. Predeceased by his parents Louis and Anne, brother to Irene (Don) predeceased, Daniel (Marie) and Peter. Cherished by many nieces and nephews who looked upon John as an inspiration to face all of life’s challenges with a positive outlook and an infectious smile. John was born in Sudbury on May 22, 1935 and worked for 34 years with the Department of Highways, many of which as an Inspector of Signs & Buildings retiring in 1990 to the home he built on Simon Lake. This was John’s perfect job as his days were spent travelling throughout the north meeting and becoming friends with countless people along the way. John lived a full and rewarding life but always found time for family while continuing his devotion to decades of community involvement including teaching swimming to seniors as a teenager at the old YMCA to volunteering with Boy Scouts, Lions Club, being the Best Santa ever and his passion for woodworking with the Naughton Seniors Woodworking Shop where he created many treasured projects which he would give away to anyone that asked. In his “Spare” time John continued to Curl and Golf on a regular basis and never turned down a card game. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre where John quickly endeared himself to everyone he met. Many thanks to the Doctors and staff at the Vascular Clinic for their care and compassion. Memorial Service to be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Wednesday August 22nd, 2018 at 11:30am. (Friends may gather after 10:30am Wednesday). In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph Villa Continuing Care Center or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
