Talarico, Maria

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Maria Talarico on Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was 91 years old. Maria was born on September 8, 1926 in Traversa, Scigliano, Cosenza, Italy to her parents Annunziata and Giuseppe Sicilia (both predeceased). She married Antonio Talarico in 1951 in Italy. Antonio came to Canada in search of employment to provide for his family and Maria joined him here in 1967. Maria was a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook who also loved sewing and working in her huge vegetable garden. Maria was predeceased by her husband Antonio in 2004. She is survived by her 3 loving children, Lina (husband Claude Chaumont), Geppino (Monique Delwo) and Angela (husband Marc Trudel). Maria was the proud grandmother of 4 grandchildren, David (wife Christine), Danielle (husband Erik), Dominic (wife Carolyne) and Mia. She is also survived by her 5 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Luigino Sicilia and sister Margherita Sicilia both of Italy. She was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Natalina and Giovannina Sicilia. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 from 10-1p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel.
