In Loving Memory of Leslie “Les” John MacRury 89 years Saturday, June 16th, 2018 at his home. Beloved husband of Lucille (Maisonneuve) MacRury predeceased 2005. Loving father of Cheryl and Brian (Susan). Cherished grandfather of Iain and Sarah. Dear son of John and Blanche MacRury both predeceased. Loving brother of Ethel Campbell and Aulay (Marion), predeceased by Archibald, Kenneth, Ida Gillis, and Anna Burrell. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, grandpuppies and kittens. Les came to Ontario in 1951. He worked in the field of mechanics at a few different establishments before starting his own business, Les MacRury Diesel Repairs. He was a skilled and well respected mechanic who may as well have had his PhD in working with engines. He retired in 2000, but continued to consult for years after. He had been raised on a farm in Cape Breton and loved to spend time in his vegetable garden. He enjoyed the outdoors, chopping kindling and stoking the garage fire, camping on Manitoulin Island, fishing and woodworking. For Les, family always came first. His most memorable times were spent with his grandchildren when he could pass on the skills he had learned, whether they involved mechanics or his love of nature. His wit and humour at family gatherings will be greatly missed. Funeral Visitation in the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Tuesday).
