In Loving Memory of John William Shepherd January 8, 1944 – June 14, 2018 John finished his earthly journey suddenly and peacefully on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Lorne and Margaret Shepherd on January 8, 1944. Loving husband of Judy Shepherd (Wood) for 50 years (April 6th, 1968). Cherished father of Jennifer, Jonathon, and Jeffrey (Ruth). Wonderful Papa of Rowan and Audrey. Dear brother of Marjorie Raddatz (Roy deceased), Lorne Shepherd (Doris), Ruby Carroll (George), David Shepherd (Connie), Mary Taylor (Robert deceased), Lorna Vanblitterswyk (Cornelius), and Robert Shepherd (Frances). Treasured son-in-law of the late George and Laura Wood. John will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. John was an ordained minister with the PAOC for 50 years (1967-2017) and established many friendships in the communities where he ministered as a pastor: Glencoe, Blenheim, Guelph, Pembroke, and Sudbury. He always sought to build upon the work of previous leaders and leave tangible impacts in his community. He expanded and updated church buildings in Glencoe, Blenheim, Guelph, Pembroke, and Sudbury. He planned and completed new and improved camp facilities at Ottawa Valley Pentecostal Camp. He envisioned and helped establish the Samaritan Center in downtown Sudbury. Visitation will be held Friday, June 22nd, 2018 from 4-8pm at Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury and Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 12-1pm at Glad Tidings Church, 1101 Regent Street, Sudbury. Funeral service to be held 1pm Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at Glad Tidings Church in Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Samaritan Center (Roof Replacement Project).
